Who we are Your hospitals Weston General Hospital SUPPORT WESTON GENERAL HOSPITAL As of October 2021, Weston General Hospital joined our charity family as part of the newly merged University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW) providing care to the people of Bristol, Weston-super-Mare and across the South West. Weston General Hospital delivers acute care to the community, including intensive care, coronary (heart) services, medical assessment unit, and an emergency department which sees more than 47,000 patients each year. Services At Weston, there is also a specialist stroke unit with a team of highly experienced staff, caring for patients from emergency treatment to rehabilitation in the community. Ashcombe Birth Centre in Weston is a midwife-led birth centre specialising in low-risk births. They also work in partnership with St Michael’s Hospital in Bristol which provides service for complicated pregnancies. Weston Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) offers sexual health care, contraception advice and treatment services led by Unity Sexual Health. The hospital also provides a range of cancer services including colorectal, lung, skin, gynaecology, palliative care and urology, as well as a daycase chemotherapy service. great things we'VE FUNDED From creating calming environments to activities for older people, the little things can make a really big difference to improve the experience patients have in hospital. DEMENTIA GARDEN AND ACTIVITIES Your support has enabled us to fund dementia-friendly gardening and craft sessions for patients and their loved ones. Every week patients from the older care wards have the opportunity to take part in this fantastic project for some horticulture therapy.
