An iPad for children

In 2020 Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity funded an iPad for The Bridge. It is used by children aged up to 18 who have experienced acute sexual abuse.

Rochelle Torrington, Crisis Worker at The Bridge, said: “Children who attend our services can often be anxious about what is happening at their appointment which includes an intimate examination following sexual abuse or sexual assault.

“The iPad is a fantastic distraction tool which can help during the examination. There are also long periods of time when parents of children are being spoken to and the child can have a lot of waiting around. The iPad keeps the child entertained along with the other resources we have at The Bridge.”
