Refurbishments made to create calm bereavement spaces

CREATING CALM and peaceful SPACES FOR BEREAVED FAMILIES

In memory donations haved helped to create quiet and more compassionate spaces for grieving familes. From funding a safe and private space in the bereavement office family room at the Bristol Royal Infirmary to refurbishing eight bereavement spaces at Weston General Hospital and St Michael's Hospital so families are surrounded by gentle, comforting environments during their time in need.

Your support can help us fund cloth bags for returning patients’ belongings to their loved ones after they have died. These bags help show more compassion and dignity to decease patients and their grieving families.

Sophia Bloor, lead nurse of end of life care at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre, said: “When a patient’s property is returned to their loved ones, it is often a very emotive time and we want to ensure that this act is compassionate, now more than ever."

Memory boxes provided to children of parents at the end of their life

MEMORY BOXES PRESEVE PRECIOUS MOMENTS

Memory boxes were purchased to give to parents who are coming to the end of their life or are living with an incurable condition so they can share with their children to capture their precious memories together.

We were able to fund boxes for different age ranges for children aged 5-12 yrs old and 13+ yrs to help support them through the process of losing a parent.
