Case study:

Deloitte BRISTOL PARTNERSHIP redefineS education in hospital 

Deloitte and Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity built a strategic partnership based around making a difference for children and families at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children..

Before the partnership, patients at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children received just one hour of face-to-face teaching a day. The partnership has delivered a holistic learning programme, which has transformed the educational provision for children in hospital.  

Thanks to Deloitte’s funding, specialist teachers now deliver an enriching curriculum spanning STEM subjects (science, technology, engineering and maths), drama, cooking, music and digital skills. Deloitte colleagues also volunteer at the hospital every week to engage children in learning, educational play and creative activities. 

The partnership aligns with Deloitte’s ambition to create five million better futures across Deloitte North and South Europe by 2030 as part of their 5 Million Futures programme.

We are passionate about taking an active role in Bristol, helping build and sustain a place that is not simply liveable, but loveable as well. Our relationship with Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity delivers just that.

The first three years of the Deloitte-BWHC partnership have delivered:  

 £128,000 raised, funding thousands of sessions for young patients. 

 Over 1,000 children supported, with demand for services growing year on year. 

 Hundreds of hours of skilled volunteering. 

The partnership has been shortlisted for a national charity award at the Third Sector Business Charity Awards 2026 – a testament to the value that it has brought both Deloitte and Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity.
