Role summary

We’re looking for people on social media to help us share our messages and reach even more people across Bristol, Weston and beyond. Whether you’re helping us to promote events, appeals or just saying thanks, you’ll be doing something great.

This is a very flexible role where you’ll be helping to raise awareness by engaging with our social posts (liking, commenting and sharing) or writing your own posts and stories on your social media accounts to help reach those who do not know about us.

This awareness raising will help increase our presence, help spread the word about all the great things we are doing for your hospitals, and in turn help raise more funds for your hospitals.

With your support, we can bring even more moments of joy, comfort and hope to those who need it most in your ten hospitals.

WAYS TO GET INVOLVED AS AN AMBASSADOR

Here are some ideas and different ways you could get involved as a Social Media Amabassador:

ENGAGE

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Interact with comments and conversations related to the charity

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Share our posts on our own social media accounts

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Post on Facebook groups that you’re part of, such as sharing events in your school Facebook group, the group for your local area or your local running group

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Share our content on other platforms, such as to your university or school bulletin newsletter, share with your friends or in an email to your colleagues.

Create content

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Create your own posts, videos and stories featuring the charity. It could be something we’ve funded, such as our hospital bus, or billboards or campaigns you’ve seen. It could even be a video of yourself talking about the charity

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Create your own social posts/stories in your authentic voice and share on your social media account. For certain posts (e.g. campaign launches or appeals), our marketing team can provide example messaging for you to share

Share experiences

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Post a selfie of you on our hospital bus

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Have you been to a hospital department which had things we’ve funded? Share your photo and experience. Such as how our funded wheelchairs helped you or a loved one get to an appointment. Or how the calming artwork on a ward in the hospital helped calm your nerves before an appointment (just be careful not to include any patients in your photos or videos).

BWHC Logo sunburst icon You could also share your story with us to help raise awareness and inspire others.

And don’t forget to tag us to so we can share your posts, pictures and videos.

We would also appreciate an update once a month on your activity and what has been posted. This allows for feedback both ways on how the role is going and how you are enjoying it (this may help with future CVs).

And last but not least, we ask that you only talk positively about Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity and the NHS on your public platforms, and don’t say anything that would bring us into disrepute.

LEANNE

“Having spent a lot of time in hospital I really wanted to give back to our NHS. Helping raise awareness on social media is such an easy way to give back and help spread the word. I love sharing posts about projects that have been funded to highlight the amazing work the charity are doing for our hospitals and the difference they make.”
