After Oliver’s dad Steve was given the all-clear from throat cancer, Oliver wanted to do something to say thank you for the care he’d received at Bristol Haematology and Oncology Centre (BHOC).

Along with his wife Laura, Oliver planned a huge quiz, raffle and auction at Clevedon Conservative Club that raised a whopping £2,300.

Oliver said: “My wife Laura and I got involved in the charity due to my dad being diagnosed with throat cancer in April 2024, just before our wedding. We wanted to give something back to the incredible people at the Oncology Unit, their care, patience, availability and kindness has blown us all away.

Our quiz night was a fantastic success, with sold out tickets and family clubbing together to ensure the event went well, from serving food to welcoming guests (and even running to buy more raffle tickets after we sold out three times!)
