On Tuesday 19^th November, a new tower crane was unveiled to Bristol.

The 75m crane is situated on the Bowmer + Kirkland managed construction site at Fox Den Retail Estate in Filton and is decorated in Christmas lights.

To name the crane, Bowmer + Kirkland team worked with us on a competition for patients at Bristol Royal Hospital for Children.

After the hard-fought competition, joint winners were announced. The crane will be called Klaus for the first six months, followed by Mad Metal Max. The names were chosen by Georgia, seven, and Ellis, 11.

Bowmer + Kirkland used the unveiling of the crane to kick off their new partnership with us by donating £7,170 to their Christmas appeal and projecting our logo onto the crane.

Alex Reynolds, Bowmer + Kirkland area manager, said: “I am proud to announce our partnership with Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity as we support their Christmas campaign.

“This initiative not only highlights our commitment to giving back to the community, but also showcases the incredible creativity of the children from the children’s hospital through their imaginative designs in our crane-naming competition.

“The generous donations collected internally and from our subcontractors will help bring smiles to many individuals during their stay in hospital at Christmas. We look forward to working together with Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity in the future.”

The total collected by Bowmer + Kirkland includes a generous £1,500 donation from Canada Life.

“We’re delighted that Bowmer + Kirkland chose to work with patients on naming the crane. There were some fabulous suggestions to choose from.
