This year’s Big Bristol Abseil at St Michael’s Hospital raised a whopping £38,000 for your hospitals!

Thank you so much to everyone for all their incredible fundraising. Your donations will have a direct impact in your hospitals.

Here are just some of the upcoming projects we are working on:

  • We’re establishing an End of Life Care Volunteer Programme to provide an extra level of support to patients nearing the end of their life and their loved ones, ensuring patients receive one-to-one support in their final days and hours. End of Life Care Volunteers provide bedside companionship and comfort to dying patients, including supporting those who don’t have friends or family nearby and are at high risk of dying alone.
  • We’re transforming Ward 76, the transitional care unit at St Michael's Hospital, where babies need additional care after being born. Ward environment is crucial at this point,  so we’re making the ward into a warm and friendly space, adding recliner chairs by bedsides making it possible for family members to stay overnight and a communal feeding room so new parents can socialise with others on the ward.
  • We’ll continue providing period packs to patients who need them, supporting patients living with dementia with activities, gardening sessions and safer spaces, providing sensory bags for children who may struggle with being in hospital and so much more.

We’re already looking forward to a fantastic calendar of 2026 fundraising events. If you want to say thank you for the care of you or a loved one, raise money in memory of someone you love or you’re a member of our NHS staff team – there’s something for everyone!
