Our impact Our impact Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity funds used to support emergency department patient safety checklist Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity supporters have helped fund an emergency department patient safety checklist, which is now being used across the South West. The ED patient safety checklist is a simple time-based framework that outlines clinical tasks that need completing for each patient in the first hours of their admittance to an ED. It ensures that assessments and tests happen in a timely way to improve patient satisfaction and reduce risks. With Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity support, the checklist was originally piloted at Bristol NHS Foundation Trust in 2014. Since then it has been rolled out across the South West and even won a national patient safety award. Paul Kearney, Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity CEO, said: "It's fantastic to hear about the ways Above & Beyond is supporting patients not just here in Bristol, but across the South West. "It is only thanks to our kind supporters and fundraisers that this is possible and I’d like to thank them all for their continued work with Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity."
