SUPPORT BRISTOL CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) is the only dedicated children’s hospital in the South West. Children from across the country are referred for a wide range of specialist care here. It is currently the base for the internationally renowned bone marrow transplant unit.

Did you know?

  • For a sick child to be cared for in the BRHC, it costs the NHS £1,093 per day
  • Each year the BRHC treats over 85,000 children and teenagers
  • Opened in 2001, the current building was the first purpose-built children's hospital in the South West
  • The BRHC is a centre of excellence, since the closure of children’s wards at both Southmead hospital in 2007 and Frenchay in 2015
  • In 2016, BRHC had the best survival rate in the UK for victims of major trauma at a paediatric major trauma centre.

GREAT THINGS we've funded

The children’s neuroscience and major trauma and rehabilitation unit, was gifted over £100,000 thanks to our fundraisers who took part in our 2017 Bristol to Paris Cycle Challenge. The unit provides essential care for children suffering from traumatic brain injuries, brain tumours, epilepsy and cerebral palsy. Funds have improved equipment and created an inspiring environment to help children like Ben re-learn basic daily tasks.

More projects we've been able to fund include period packs for young patients who don't have access to sanitary products, cutting edge swallowing evaluation equipment, and an interactive projector for the starlight ward.

How you can help

Every penny you can give helps to pay for things that really matter to our young patients. We are currently fundraising to build a ground-breaking research centre at the heart of Bristol Royal Hospital for Children which will improve the quality of life for thousands of children all across the South West.

Please do great things for Bristol Royal Hospital for Children so we can continue to help young patients. Thank you.

Please note that we are unable to accept donations of soft toys or second-hand toys due to infection control.
