Your ultra moment for your hospitals

A challenge event you can take on at your pace. The South West Coast 50 Challenge invites you to walk, jog or run a distance of your choic  along a signed route, with free food and drink at regular rest stops. Get the ‘Ultra Challenge’ support and hospitality all the way – helping you to push yourself further and achieve something really special for your hospitals.

Take on the South West challenge for 2025 – taking in a section of the 630 mile Coastal Path with an extensive ‘basecamp’ in the shadows of the impressive Dunster Castle. Distances include the full 50km loop over Exmoor, with ups and downs and some magnificent views and over 1,600 metres of climbing. It will test spirit and determination, but is totally achievable with good preparation and the Ultra Challenge support. With 25km and 10km challenge options also available - there's a challenge here for everyone – and you can join as an individual or as a team.

As you cross the finish line, you’ll get a big welcome from the cheer squad, a glass of fizz, t-shirt and a special medal to celebrate your achievement.

Walk, jog, or run a distance of your choice (10km, 25km or 50km) as an individual or a team, and help do great things for your Bristol and Weston hospitals.

Your miles power smiles

FAQs

BWHC Logo sunburst icon How much does it cost to take part?

There are a number of different registration options - ranging from £5 to £198.

BWHC Logo sunburst icon How much do I need to fundraise?

Depending on if you sign up for a charity place or self-fund, the fundraising target varies. Check the website for more details.

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Can I sign a team up to take part?

Of course! You can create or join a team via the sign up page.

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Do I have to be an expert to take part?

There’s no denying it – this challenge is tough so will require some training and determination.

You will need to prepare well and should read the training advice. The more comfortable you are with walking or running long distances for sustained periods, the more comfortable you will be on the challenge itself.

A training plan is in the participant’s area of the website and we recommend organising regular training walks or runs to get your fitness levels up.
