Your ultra moment for your hospitals

A challenge event you can take on at your pace. The South Coast Challenge invites you to walk, jog or run a distance of your choice – helping you to push yourself further and achieve something really special for your local hospitals.

Take on some of England's finest scenery as a walk, jog or run! The route has an Eastbourne start, up Beachy Head, over the magnificent Seven Sisters and along the famous South Downs Way National Trail, with stunning views over the sea to a Brighton mid-point. Devil's Dyke, welcome rest stops, a few ups and downs all lie ahead before historic Arundel comes into view after an 100km amazing journey. It will test spirit and determination but is totally achievable with good preparation and the Ultra Challenge support. With 50km, 25km and 10km challenge options also available - there's a challenge here for everyone – and you can join as an individual or as a team.

As you cross the finish line, you’ll get a big welcome from the cheer squad, a glass of fizz, t-shirt, and a special medal to celebrate your achievement.

Walk, jog or run a distance of your choice (25km, 50km or 100km) as an individual or a team, and help do great things for Bristol and Weston hospitals.

Your miles power smiles

BWHC Logo sunburst icon How much do I need to fundraise?

Depending on if you sign up for a charity place or self-fund, the fundraising target varies. Check the website for more details.

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Can I sign a team up to take part?

Of course! You can create or join a team via the sign up page.

BWHC Logo sunburst icon Do I have to be an expert to take part?

There’s no denying it – this challenge is tough.

You will need to prepare well and should read the training advice. The more comfortable you are with walking or running long distances for sustained periods, the more comfortable you will be on the challenge itself.

A training plan is in the participant’s area of the website and we recommend organising regular training walks or runs to get your fitness levels up.
