There is a minimum sponsorship of £395 for a 10,000ft skydive and £495 for 15,000ft skydive. This will need to be raised 4 weeks before your jump date or we may need to defer your place. Are there any restrictions? The minimum age is 16 years and there is no upper age limit. If you are aged between 16 and 18 you will need a parent or legal guardian to sign to give their consent The maximum weight limit is 18 stone. If you are between 15 and 18 stone, there will be a surcharge, you can contact us in advance to discuss. What to expect on the day? Once you arrive at the centre, you will be directed to the self-check-in area. Please bring your booking reference. After you check in, one of the skydive team members will take you to the induction room where they’ll explain what to expect throughout the day. You will be shown some videos and have the opportunity to ask any questions about the experience. About 20 minutes before your jump you’ll be called through to the kitting-up area. A pre-jump training session is conducted by a highly qualified instructor in a simulated training environment. This session will last about 10 – 15 and is also an opportunity for you to meet your fellow jumpers as you’ll be staying with this group for your flight up to altitude. The departure area is the last stop before take-off. Here you’ll meet your instructor and record the start of your tandem skydive movie (if purchased) as you wait for your flight to be ready. The departure area is strictly for jumpers only but you will be close and clearly visible to any friends and family that you’ve brought along for support. Who will be there on the day of my skydive? When you arrive at the airfield, you will be welcomed by the lovely reception staff. They will talk you through what the day will look like for you and what you can expect. You can join other spectators to watch others brave the skydive challenge, while you wait for your turn. As your local hospital charity we want as much of your raised funds to go to our hospitals. Keeping that, our staff's capacity and the distance from Bristol in mind, we can't guarantee staff presence on the day of your challenge. Can I bring spectators? Located in the beautiful Wiltshire country side at Old Sarum airfield. Your friends and family (and even well behaved dogs) can come along. They will have great views of the jumping from the onsite cafe, which offers indoor and outdoor seating options. There is plenty of free parking on site. Can I sign a team up to take part? Of course! One project was the dementia-friendly garden and activities which includes weekly craft and gardening sessions that can help reduce anxiety and distress, as well as funding improvements to the hospital garden to make it wheelchair accessible so even more patients can experience this wonderful project. STARLIGHT PROJECTOR Previous skydiver, Cameron, wanted to fundraise for our hospitals after his friend's baby Jack passed away. "I wanted to do the skydive to be a small part of helping to support those coping with very sick children." The money Cameron raised went towards the latest equipment for the Starlight Ward including a starlight projector to entertain young patients during treatments, help distract them from pain and procedures and improve the experience both them and their parents have in hospital.
