This will be a lead role for a volunteer working in our fundraising hub, our shop within the welcome centre of the Bristol Royal Infirmary. This is where staff, patients, their families, and members of the public can come and speak to us and find out more about what we do.

The fundraising hub is open on weekdays between 10am and 5pm, with shifts of 10am - 1.30pm and 1.30pm – 5pm. The role is to help build a welcoming atmosphere and raise funds for the Bristol city centre hospitals.

Sales are currently second-hand books, cards and gifts and the role would also cover running bake sales and accepting donations.

Role summary

Your role will be to take the lead in conjunction with the Volunteer Coordinator and the Community Team in supporting the running of our shop. You will help with stock control, ordering and generally be the font of knowledge on all things ‘Fundraising Hub’!

The role would be for at least one day per week (split over two days if preferred) and based in our shop in the BRI.

Our Fundraising Hub plays an important role in our face-to-face contact with the hospitals and the public so a confident and outgoing personality and an enjoyment of meeting people is key. We need someone who is welcoming and friendly, who is reliable and has good attention to detail. Experience of retail would be an advantage.

What we can offer

  • Full training for the role.
  • Monthly volunteer emails/newsletters keeping you up to date on what is happening at Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity and how you have made a difference.
  • Regular invitations to share your ideas and our plans.
  • An invitation to our annual celebration event to say thank you.
