On Sunday 2nd June, our community of supporters are stepping up for a 5km walk around Bristol Harbourside to celebrate their local NHS, say thanks for care, or walk in memory of someone they love.

This is our first Big Bristol Walk and we're expecting more than 100 people to take part. Will you join us as we takeover Bristol Harbourside in a sea of yellow?

We're looking for some wonderful people to join our events team on the day. This could be at supporting with registration, handing out certificates, or marshalling along the route.

Every step taken will help us go above and beyond for patients in our hospitals. But we can't do it without our incredible volunteers who are vital to the success of our events.

Volunteering is great. Volunteering for Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity is greater.

What to expect on the day

Once you’ve registered you’re interest, we’ll be in touch talk you through event expectations. This is what you can expect on the day:

• On the day of the event, you'll have a briefing with our event manager so you’ll know what you’ll be doing. You’ll then be supported and guided by a member of the BWHC team throughout the event.
• You can expect to be involved in one or more of the following duties:
• Helping to set up and pack down the event
• Route marshal – you could be located at one of our marshal points, cheering on participants, helping them to navigate the route or supplying them with refreshments.
• Registration point – helping to register participants on the day, handing out t-shirts, ensuring public footways are not blocked, answering queries and guiding people to the start point or handing out certificates when people finish their walk.

What we can offer

• The event manager will be in touch prior to the event to provide you with an event brief to read through in advance This will include information on keeping safe and what you can expect to be doing on the day. 
• A great atmosphere on the day, this will be a wonderful event to add to your CV or to simply be part of.
